One Awesome Date Night!!

It's been 21+ years since Dave and I got hitched.  I think that might just be a record somewhere, (in Hollywood for sure) except in my family where my parents have made it to 55 years!!  Throughout our time together, we've always made it a point to make time for date night.  Some have been more "creative" than others, depending on our financial situation and work schedule at the time.

We've done things like, ironically, test drive cars (it's free), to dinner and movie, to bowling.  I remember once or twice playing golf  (I don't like that so much but you do what you have to to keep the Man happy).  He's gone to his fair share of "chick flicks" with me so it all works out.  One time when he was working in West Hollywood, he had me (and my mom) come down for the Halloween Parade/ Freak Show!  I've never seen so many half dressed gay people in my life!  It was the first time in my life that I had trouble figuring out if they were male or female.  I couldn't get out of there fast enough!!  Can you say Sodom and Gomorrah?  My mom was as wide eyed as I was.  We've gone to several concerts, and shows (Boston, Kenny Loggins, Blue man group, etc)

One of our first date nights (before marriage) was when we went for a walk at Pismo Beach and right before we were going to walk onto the Pier, a fight broke out.  I, of course, wanted to watch but he grabbed me and spun me around and got out of there.  He was a policeman at the time and he had had his fare share of fights, but this was NOT his idea of a good date, so we left.  Another date was when he took me on a "ride along" while he was working at UCSB as a policeman.  He was working the swing shift so we drove around and did patrol until about midnight.

What I'm saying is is that we've had a wide range of date nights.  Last night was a pretty cool one.  He is working on the Stadium of Fire show here in Provo and has access to those really cool "All Access" passes, so we got to go watch the dress rehearsal for the show that will be put on tonight at BYU.  I took pictures but I didn't have the long lens so they're not very good but here are some of them.

Not the MoTabs but they were pretty good

They had several sky divers drop down.  Pretty cool!

Tons of dancers!!

David Archuleta is the opening act.  He has got an amazing voice and seems to be a really nice kid still.  I hope that fame doesn't change that.  He sang about 5 songs so that they could get the sound just right and he was very cool about talking to people, shaking hands and photo ops.
Brad Paisley is the main act but he wasn't there yet.  I guess he flies in today.  His fleet of trucks and buses where there though, all 5 big rigs and 4 buses.  What a life!

Chad Lewis (Football star) is the MC and he seems pretty laid back.  He didn't have "his people" around, just him.

That is David with the white shirt talking to that lady with the red shirt.

David on stage but I wasn't close enough to get a good picture.

The moral of this story is...never stop dating each other!
