I recently made a trip down south to St George to help my parents out for a few days. My mom had a total knee replacement on her right knee. This has been scheduled for quite some time, but what happened in addition to this, was definitely NOT scheduled!
My parents decided to take a relaxing trip to California before mom had the surgery and before she would be "laid up" for a while. I guess the trip started off just fine, but then she caught a cold, so they chose to return home a couple of days early. This, it turns out, was a good choice! When they arrived home they discovered that their home was flooded!! Apparently either their R.O. unit (drinking water tap) or another pipe under their kitchen sink broke and was pouring out water for a few days. It had been going so long that it spread to most of the main floor living space and even penetrated and destroyed the basement! They were greeted with a
squish, squish here, a squish, squish there, as they walked through their home.
These pictures don't do it justice, but you'll get the point.

This is their front room |

Dining room, the carpet will have to go. That's the pantry door leaning against the wall. |

No more kitchen sink, counters or island |

There used to be an island under those hanging pots |

Stove no longer under microwave |

Stove is now where table used to be |

Basement bathroom. The tub caught a lot of water |
Before I left on Tuesday, the basement was already sheet rocked but that's about all.
CAUTION!! Scary pictures below
Like I said, mom went ahead and had her surgery and what follows are photos of that, so if you're squeamish, don't look.

She really got "beat up", poor thing |
All I can say is, it's a really good thing she's on DRUGS!
